President Nicolas Sarkozy comes to Israel

France will be well represented next week in Israel. President Nicolas Sarkozy is coming for a visit of State to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Israel. He will be accompanied by many personnalities and startups.

I will have the opportunity to meet him and a delegation of companies next Tuesday in Jerusalem.

Off Blogging for a few days

I will be quiet for a few days and blogging pace will go down for a while. i will be traveling quite a lot during the next few weeks for meetings, SeedCamp, TechCrunch40 and IE Club conference where i am speaking.

I will also take some holidays. Before and after i will be working. hard.

If you want to contact me for TechCrunch i am still available and my blackberry will do its magic.

Right now i am at SeedCamp in London, which is really great. Actually i have managed to find a hidden israeli entrepreneur in the selected companies. He's based in the UK and therefore was not listed as Israeli. Maybe more for next edition?

In Silicon Valley/San Francisco week of November 6

I will be in web2.0 conference in San Francisco and will stay there a few more days. Actually my post about getting a entry there was helpful (thanks to Alain for the help).

I am planning also lot of meetings with US VCs, bloggers, entrepreneurs…

I will also attend the Israeli Internet Conference organized by the Israeli Chamber of commerce and Israeli Consulate.

Good to be Back

I spent just amazing holidays in France for 10 days and i am really happy to be back. For the first time i was disconnected totally: not or nearly not touch a computer for about 2 weeks. A not not even a single post. Well, it s hard to admit but it feels good!

I am not sure it will interest everyone but this was my holidays programm, if they were tags:

Thanks to all those who contributed to this great holidays: my family, Fred, dan, odelia, philippe, audrey, olivier, valery and karine, the sun, the snow, emmanuel and mickey.

And now i am back. It will be hard to catch up with all that happened on the web for this past 2 weeks. TechCrunch audience keeps on rising both in the US and France (nearly 50k and 1500 in feed subscription respectively in TechCrunch US and France).

That was a good surprise for me to discover, as well as the good work realized by Guillaume who overtook TechCrunch during my absence.

From all the new apps i discovered since back, the best one is clearly Google Calendar. It is really amazing and the integration with Gmail is fantastic. I have only one comments (worth for all online calendars), they should create, as plaxo did, a synchronization function with your desktop Calendar (Outlook in my case). That would make it a killer app.

Curiously i discovered the audience of this blog kept at a good level without any maintenance. I was also shocked by the senseless comment of some stupid french blogger on his view on the Iranian president to who i promise soon a dedicated answer.

Before i left i promised you to reveal some new informations. Sorry but regarding the phone number of Scarlett Johansson it will not be for now.

During this week i will announce:

• the new name of this blog
• the name of my new employer and why i left ICQ
• other interesting things

Finally, all in all, it is good to be back

ps: and i forgot the most important France 2 is back in Israel!

Bye Bye for 2 weeks

Don’t be surprised to see that blog quiet for 2 weeks. I will be in holidays and will not have so much time for blogging (it is going to feel weird). But i promise that when i am back i will start back again.

When i am back i will reveal you :

• My new job in details and more details about why i left ICQ.
• The new name of this blog (MyBlog just sounds too…not nice). Hint: it will be a play on word (a good one)
• How TechCrunch is making my life happier than what i thought
• The next 10 winning combinations of the National Lottery (joking of course!)
• The personnal phone number of Scarlett Johansson and Demi Moore (you will find out it is a joke when i am back)

I will be all this week in Hong Kong for business. I will try to keep up the rythm with frenetic blogger Michael Arrington for TechCrunch France and might slow down posting on this blog, temporarily of course.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALITALIA FOR...

• Somehow being always late and finding always a different good excuse (lost luggage, wheather, personn missing, another alitalia plane late, the captain s mother angry,…)
• Offering your business class customer exactly the same experience as your economy passengers (ah yes, sorry, i forgot this amazing separating curtain)
• Giving your customer untolerable plastic food
• Supplying your customer with seats that are totally broken
• Explaining to some of your customers (like me) they cannot take their hand luggage with them because it is "too heavy". It should not weigh more than 5kilos ; but 90% of other passengers get in the plane with at least 15kilos. Racists!
• Leaving during a whole night flight the worst cheap lift music to help your passengers slip.

I know i already blogged on this wonderful airline company. but i just came back from italy and the experience was again terrible! I wish you die soon
