MG ROVER, the british car manufacturer has been aquired by a chinese carmaker. In the UK no one protest against this acquisition contrary to what “could” happen in France with Danone and Pepsico. It tells a lot about the difference of mentality between France and UK. The second know how to play by the rules and consider, even if it is painful, that an acquisition is not a taboo even when it comes to its most emblematic brands. It can even be a vertu : in that case the company is saved from the bankrupt.
