The Israeli jazz scene is vibrant. But not in Israel. It is happening abroad where the audience is more receptive to this form of art. Many young israeli artists choose to move abroad to pursue their careers. And rightly so. They are really world class artists, among the finest in the world. I know personally one of them: Yaron Herman, one of the best jazz pianist of the new generation and a name you ll here more and more. Including in Israel.
Anyway if you want to take a bite at what the Israeli jazz is all about i recommend you listen to this great podcast by the blog Straight No chaser dedicated to that.
