Twitter Down? the ultimate way to be alerted when it is back

Unfortunately it happened again today. Twitter was down. Not just the API the whole site (seriously i can't understand that it really happens too often....).

Anyway here is a cool tip and tool in order to avoid wasting time going every 30 sec on twitter.com and check whether the site is back.

First before running that use DownJustForMe.com which will tell you if the site is really down

If this is the case use MrUptime a simple Firefox extension that will add the URL on a watch list. When the site is back you ll receive an alert (just like the one below) and you can go and surf again. Would be even cooler if i could get this over IM.
