I wrote once about Twitter and why i love so much this tool that helps me do thing i could never achieve before.
Another interesting story happened to me the other day. I was watching a video on YouTube of very talented pianist improvising on "The Peacocks" a fantastic jazz tune by Jimmy Rowles.
I liked it and left a comment with a question "Where can i find the music score?". I have bought all the "Real Books" and searched everywhere for that tune for years. But unsuccessfully
3 days ago i received an email from a YouTube user suggesting to scan the music score for me and sending it to me. Which is what happened. and i could play it yesterday night at home
This is something no other media could help me achieve and i am always amazed to see so many good energies on the internet from people you never know and never met.
Hi there! I couldn't agree more! I have in fact found your blog while searching for exactly the same thing: the Peacocks' score! Needless to say I have not found it anywhere, nor I have found any info regarding publications that may contain it. I have also looked for it for years in all London libraries and music shops, but in vain. You seem to be now my last possibility. Would it be too much if I asked you to forward to me the scanned score that you received from that guy? I would appreciate it A LOT! Thank you!
Best wishes, Gerry

..and that is how I found this site as well. Met Stan Getz in Boston once at Emilio's, the great saxophone technician. Told him that out of all his recordings, his duet with Rowles on this song is my favorite. After Emilio finished with the adjustments on his tenor, he played it for me. Simply amazing.
If it's possible, I would love the music as well.
thanks so much
