Dave Winer has created a mashup for it (Fred Wilson explains it here), but i think there is a much better way for sending pictures from your mobile phone to twitter (why would you do that? because sometimes you want to share things you see right away on the go with your friends)
this requires a one time setup and that's all
- Activate email upload from flickr and send a picture from your mobile phone to flickr
- When you send a picture from your mobile (i use email) to Flickr add a specific tag - here one how to - for pictures you want included in Twitter (i chose "4Twitter"). example here
- Each tag has a specific RSS feed (you can find it at the bottom left of the page on the example above). Take the RSS feed for this tag (in my case 4Twitter) and create a Twitter alert on TwitterFeed. TwitterFeed creates a Twitter alert from any RSS feed
- TwitterFeed allows much more control on what is displayed in Twitter than the mashup of Dave Winer. For example you can include a intro note (i included [Picture]: ). You can also control better how many pics will be displayed and the frequency of publication. You can also filter keywords (if you picture is about your family for example)
- You are done
Then simply shoot a picture from your mobile device, add the 4Twitter tag. A description in subject or body send it to Flickr. And you re done. A link to the picture + description will appear a few minutes later on Twitter
This btw should be able to work with mobile videos and other things you would like to share on the go (not only flickr)
i do recognize this is not dead simple. Flickr should offer that directly with a one time login to your flickr account. This will come soon i hope
PS: if i had Shozu i would not have to even use email. Shozu guys need to create a version for BlackBerry urgently
Howdy;
sounds great . but i use a other great tool in combination with twitter. in my "old" Blog I had written about it. called mobypic.
take a look.

Nice. Seems like an excellent work around. I hadn't thought about the fact that each tag has an RSS.
Thanks for the simplicity.

Hi there,
We are doing a lot of work presently porting ShoZu to many new devices (close to 300 now) and a BlackBerry port is on the list but I couldn't give an accurate representation of a time frame as yet. Stay tuned.
Best,
Mark (ShoZu)

This is useful and I'll give it a try. There are other ways to share pictures and emails using your BlackBerry. Have you ever looked at a Mobile Exchange Server offering?
Connecting on the fly with incoming mail from your desktop outlook, and sending outbound snaps and notes can really be valuable. This is a plug (I hope that is acceptable); but take a look at http://www.123together.blackberry.com.

Now that was a Freudian Sip. The url for 123Together should properly be: http://www.123together.com
