A very quick overview of some Israeli Internet startup that got some coverage here and there
- Hooqs is a new web/mobile video service to create your personal channel founded by Aner Ravon (who writes the blog De Gardener, i recommend). The service is young but good enough to interest me and my friends at TechCrunch who covered the service in MobileCrunch.
- Wix, a service to mix photos, video and music in stealth mode would have, according to Alarm Clock, closed a round table. No more official details for now. Those guys managed to get a domain name with 3 letters. That's a good start. It sounds like a crowded space (Slide/RockYou/Vuvox/...)
- OutBrain (disclosure: an LgiLab investment) was covered by CenterNetworks recently. Thanks to Allen Stern for the overview. The team is working hard at delivering the simplest and best rating system on the web.
just a thought. a future user of wix will probably be called "wixer". i just want to point out that "wix" means "wank" in german, and "wixer".. well, you get the idea.
