Alexa is not reliable, i have been saying it for ages no matter how you look at it: numbers, trends, countries, big sites, small sites. Anyone with serious background in analytics will confirm it.
Whenever someone comes up with his alexa story, i smile discretely. I don't want Alexa data, i want either (best option) internal or reliable third parties (at least more reliable than Alexa) like Hitwise, Comscore, Nielsen...The problem is that they are not free. But that is the price for better quality.
