Just read that here.
Actually to me it s no surprise. Each time i went there, the big shops were always empty. Something tells me Bittorrent is not a stranger to that situation…
So what’s left? Steimatzki? come on what a joke! I guess internet and buying discs abroad…
update: i just met with the head of one of israeli top labels who confirmed that the shops will remain and the brand and license only are terminated. look forward to the next generation
Oh dear, this is not good. :(
But we still have haOzen haChlichit.

Tower's final collapse has been in the air for almost 5 years...
The partnership with Hed-Arzi failed, and later on the network didn't really bother to refresh the brand and introduce new value for consumers.
Last but not least - Israel is a preferred territory for piracy, from many reasons (mentality, poor legislation, law system, police etc.). From my experience in the music industry - I hear that from all edges, all the time.

it seems to be more related to tower records going out of business in the US if only the name is going to be changed.
maybe hed arzi will go back to using Top10 (that used to be the name of their store chain before merging it with tower)
