We all heard about the new Microsoft Live strategy: including Live.com (portal) and Live Messenger (replacing Msn messenger brand). But did you know that for some months now, Wanadoo, one of the largest ISP in Europe, has released an Instant Messenger called Livecom?
I would be very very surprised if a legal battle will not happen in the courtyard. Unless one of them changes name…
The most funny thing does not stop here. It would not be the first time France Telelcom (parent company of Wanadoo) would face a problem like this. A few years ago they were condemned to abandon their slogan “Bienvenue dans la vie.com” (Welcome to life.com) because lavie.com was the name of a small web agency in France. And again it was about life and .com …Would history repeat itself?
