"Waltz with Bashir" the polemical Israeli Movie, Israelis might not want to see

Everyone seems to talk about it in Cannes Film Festival: "Waltz with Bashir" is a new israeli animated movie/documentary presented in Cannes and that currently receives a lot of positive reviews. I did not read about it in Israeli news sites or news papers. This is probably because it is about one of the most painful historical episodes in Israeli History: Sabra and Chatila during the Lebanon War.

The Movie is totally atypical for the israeli movie ecosystem: first it is an animated movie about a tragedy. Second, is accompanied by classical music all along (Chopin, Bach,..), which i have not seen so far in an Israeli Movie. I was created and produced by Ari Folman who was a soldier during the war. The first reviews are very positive. I wonder what will happen with that movie in israel

I have not seen it but from the trailer it reminds me the great "Persepolis" animated movie about Iran.

Here is the trailer
