Xoopit is helping webmail change in the right direction

I wrote recently about the fact that our emails are changing DNA and that either webmail companies or startup will provide new services to make it mo

re adapted and more usable to the fact we use it more as a social dashboard and messaging system.

I have been using Xoopit for the past 24hours and i must say this is just confirming what i was writting, although i am still expecting more. Xoopit allows you to view and share more easily the media files received in attachment of your emails. The experience is very nice, it is just a plugin to add to Firefox and the rest is done alone after your email has been indexed. The execution is really world class.

But ideally i would like Xoopit and Xobni to merge and offer one service that would be perfect so i can also search and understand better where is my social map (for example with xoopit i would have automaticaly my best contacts to share with...)

On a side note Xoopit has a nice way to make you wait while they index your email. This should inspire a few services (see below)
