Yahoo is Landing in the Holy Land. Shopping starting soon. Update: Shopping started

This was only a matter of time (and opportunity): Microsoft And Google will soon have a new neighbor in Haifa. Yahoo is opening a R&D office in Israel but also strikes a search deal with the biggest israeli portal (Walla). There were rumors in the past that Yahoo was investing in Homeless a local listing service. but that never happened

This is a great news for the Israeli Internet ecosystem. I am nearly ready to bet that given the difficulty to hire good engineers in Israel those days Yahoo, will have to "acquire talents" by acquisition of local startups.

Startups, count down has started.

update: TechCrunch reports that Yahoo may buy Foxytunes confirming what i was writing above. On a personal note i LOVE foxytunes it is one of my favorite music tools and it sits permanently on my browser. That would be a great news for the entrepreneurs whose work i appreciate.
