JAZZCAST: BILL EVANS VERY EARLY (SOLO PIANO)

Here is a jazzcast dedicated to one of my favourit musician all styles included: Bill Evans. This jazz waltz is called VERY EARLY and i play it in piano solo

This is the second Bill Evans tune i record. Very early is a very simple and rich composition. The harmonies are very sophisticated as usual with Bill Evans. It has something of Debussy or Ravel, in the harmonies and could nearly be a Prelude or even a Valse noble et sentimentale. It is not a secret that those 2 french composers influenced dramatically Bill Evans.

I don t recall any particular outstanding version of this tune out of the multiples recorded by Bill Evans himself (my favourite is that one), most of the time in trio. Maybe a mention of the one by Michel Petrucciani.
